ITU Discovery Grants

Purpose

The ITU Discovery Grants are ITU’s own Discovery instrument for funding Innovation projects from research done at ITU. The characteristics of the ITU Discovery Grants are typically funding of commercialization and/or external engagement projects emerging from research done at ITU. It is often the first step on a commercialization and/or impact journey for researchers.

  • All ITU researchers can apply

  • Primarily for early research application maturation and/or refining towards a new audience and commercial direction

  • Agile application process, weekly panel meetings and one-week response time

  • You can apply for 20,000-150,000 DKK

  • The grant period is 3-6 months

  • The grant can cover materials, consulting services, tests, reports/knowledge, salary directly related to the project, etc.

  • The application must be endorsed and supported by your Head of Section, the ITU Innovation Partner and an External Mentor (appointed by the Innovation Partner)

  • ITU Discovery Grants can only support projects that have yet to establish a CVR number

*Proof of Idea (Value Proposition Design): Identifying different audiences, potentials and projects directions

Step 3: Proof of Project

Twice 1 hour meeting

*Proof of Project (Business Model/Project Describtion): Describing the commercial and/or impact potential and business model

Step 4: Evaluation & Next

1 hour meeting
